Oops… I am so glad I am not the only one leaving the house with something in the oven🤦🏻♀️ I promise you from now on you will triple-check before leaving the house. 😊
I sort of did the opposite…I turned the oven off with a pan of cookies still baking. I thought I had them in there and was cleaning up. I set a timer on my Alexa and was wondering why a timer was going off. LOL
Oh dear! We’ve all been there Ruth, Left something in or on the stove.

OMG!
That is something my daughter would do!
This is a great reminder how easily this can happen.
So glad those baking classes didn’t go to waste. Now I know why they asked you to take wood shop instead of home ec at Borough School. dc
I’m glad I’m not the only one who makes these mistakes, Ruth! Be sure to put those photos and story in a family cookbook should you ever write one.
Seems like a logical step. However, based on responses maybe “remove cookies from oven before leaving house” should be a footnote in recipes.
Ouch!
Yikes! Glad that the only thing that got burned were the cookies!
A lucky day
I’m so glad to know your house was okay, and also, that I’m not the only one who is great at burning cookies.
Scary. I’m thankful this didn’t develop into more than burned cookies.
