A mug fell on my souvenir spoon rest. I was trying to hang the mug on the hook above. It slipped out of my hand and cracked the otter. Not into smithereens, though.
I bought the glass otter spoon rest when my sister and I were on our 2016 Alaska trip. It was an artist cooperative shop in Homer.
Now I should just throw it out.
But I’m looking at it on and off for a day, wondering.
Could I glue it?
Such a clean break.
It’s just a spoon rest. It’s broken.
Why do I think about it? Gather the pieces and put them in the trash!

A saucer works just as well- holds the cooking spoon after I stir the sauce. Never touches the counter. Phew!

Yes it is cute but pitch it. Edges will never be perfect if glued and you might cut yourself when washing it. Plus contaminants might more easily attach themselves to the glued areas. Maybe if one of your kids or grandkids had made it for you in first grade but let it go Ruthie. dc

You could try to fix it first and then throw it away if it didn’t come out right. Or you could just throw it away and never know if it would have glued together nicely.
I have a friend who dues stained glass. Maybe he can repurpose the pieces in an artwork?

I would glue it. But that’s me, I glue everything and get a few more years out of it.
