Up to 14” of snow predicted. Hasn’t started yet. I went down to our neighborhood market and bought a few items.
Update Sunday 4:57 am the snow started in the night and I just heard from my friend Joanne who told me about Storm Chips
How storm chips became a bad-weather staple in Atlantic Canada
Here’s a photo of a bag of Storm Chips her friend Colleen just purchased in Nova Scotia as prep for this week’s weather.

14″ WOW!
Just updated the post with an interesting article about Storm Chips in Canada
Thanks for your visit and comments.
Schools closed today. Garbage pickup rescheduled. We got what was predicted. No plow has come to my street yet.
This storm is going to be a big one. Very glad that I have a fireplace and plenty of wood (and knitting!)
Yes thank goodness for the knitting.
Keep warm and stay safe! It sounds like you might get some good snow pictures afterwards.
Thanks MD. Soup making and knitting time.
I have never heard of storm chips, but I like the idea of having a special food to hunker down with. Stay safe! We have been at -24 to -3 (F) since Friday…..
You’re much colder than we are but we’ve got the snowfall this time. 14”
I must have been in the store with hundreds of folks looking for unhealthy items to pass the storm with. lol I came home with a chicken, carrots, bone broth, tiny potatoes, peas and more carrots, cabbage. I whipped up a stockpot full of goodness I can pop into my car should we lose power down here by the sea in NH. Stay safe.
Sounds like a delicious kettle of soup to comfort and keep warm. A definite frenzy in the store.
I don’t have storm chips, but I am stocked and already tired of shoveling.
Chips are always a good idea gcr
And a little side of dip would be okay by me,too.
Stay warm and safe. I prefer Strom Chocolate Chips!! 😉
Nothing like a buttery chocolate chip cookie fresh from the oven.
Chocolate chip cookies fresh from the oven are great, but I have been known to eat a bag of chocolate chips during a storm without bothering to put them into cookies!! 😉😄
Oh that’s much less kitchen clean up. Wise plan!
Another 80 degree day here but I’ll have some chips thinking of you. dc
Thanks for thinking of us. Snack on!
Thanks for including the info on storm chips, Ruth. My bestie in Nova Scotia already ate half the bag of her storm chips … and I don’t think the storm has started yet…… JB
Awww thanks for sending the good info. We did get the snow predicted. Also didn’t get chips!!
From your picture it looks like you are having French Toast. It has been a long time since I saw milk in glass bottles. Enjoy the snow.
I love French Toast. What a good idea.
I hope it isn’t too bad Ruth.
We are warm inside. 14 inches of snow. Schools closed again tomorrow. We are well. Thanks Leanne.
