#creativesprint Day 2

Getting unstuck in the creative department, that’s the purpose of these exercises, prompts!

From #creativesprint Blog spot  Day 2

“Author Hans Christian Anderson was born on this day in 1805. Make something inspired by a children’s fable or fairy tale.”

The Three Bears at home for breakfast with a bit of backlighting.

I’m thinking making photography is making art. Looking forward to seeing what fellow participants are posting for day 2.

Filling the Claw Machine

Before Thanksgiving vacation, I was looking for the game Scattergories. It was sold out in  two places I’d looked.  (and it wasn’t in this discount store either) It’s still on my list.

When I see a Claw Machine I think of random news reports about small children getting up into them somehow.,

I asked if the Claw Machine was popular which was a dumb question cause there she was refilling it with loads of stuffed animals.  Turns out there is a lot of info about the Claw Machines and the mechanical cranes. Here is an article about The Science Behind the Claw Machine Will Enrage You at Buzzfeed

Then I looked up How to Win at the Claw Machine, not that I want to win any of the stuffed animals but wondered if there was a strategy. click- Win at a Claw Machine

I’ve not attempted to use one……..yet.

In fact, I didn’t even know there was science or strategy behind it!

Cabin Fever? Toss Stuffed Animals in the Air, Practice Motion Photography as the Kids Catch Them

It was Jack’s idea.  Take a picture of him tossing his sock monkey in the air.

This weekend I got to be a useful grandma and help watch the younger 3 grandkids while Anna and her mom went to Cincinnati to a swim meet.

The bonus is I got to practice photography-   catch motion, suffed animal mid-air, press the shutter, experiment with the new SONY mirrorless camera.   Get a sense of the timing.

The kids were in jammies and ready for bed.

But hey, let’s throw stuffed animals in the air!  Maura got the groundhog up and  his shadow appeared on the wall!

Lost Toys

The first one is from my sister in NYC who sent this phone photo of a toy she saw in the street for two days. Thanks Mary.

And then last night after the 100th Bday party I saw this little bunny rabbit and I asked the receptionist and she said it was someone’s lost toy.

Two lost toys in one day.
