In my opinion, hers is the best of all the responses I viewed!

Stick Your Head in for the Photo Op. Or NOT!

Raggedy Ann

Standing between.

Don’t you want to be Raggedy Andy so your old grandmother can capture the moment?

Ahhh, no thanks.

I’ll just stand between the two heads.

so here is Maura between Raggedy Ann and Andy

Okay, got it.

When I saw this tonight it struck me funny.  I’d forgotten about the fun time we had at Idlewild Park and was thinking about all the grading I need to accomplish this weekend for the upcoming progress reports at school.

And I saw Maura refusing the standard photo opportunity at the amusement park. She did not want to stick her head in the hole.  Maybe she thinks it is a silly plan to do so.   We sure found a ton of ovals in wooden cut outs.  Wonder who started the first one years ago.  Seems a standard practice on the boardwalk.  We were here.  I’ve seen them for Civil War or old fashioned sepia pics offered for $.

A few more….

Raggedy Andy

Jack agrees to be Raggedy Andy-  on the fly, that is.

Please Do Not Climb on Top of Cheese

Anna and I were on FaceTime Wednesday evening  and she asked me what I was going to blog tonight.

I didn’t have a plan, I said.  She said to tell her when I was posting it so she could be the FIRST one to see it.

So I am choosing a summertime August afternoon from their recent visit.  Before school started.

Storybook Forest in Idlewild Park.  Ligonier PA.

The grandkids in the cheese. Well, three of them that is. The fourth, Maura was looking at her siblings peeking out of the holes.

And then tonight  as I uploaded, I saw the sign on the side which I had not seen before.

Anna said “the cheese stunk.”

Stunk like what?, I asked.

She said “I don’t know, it just stunk.  Like elephants.”

(Maybe it stunk but we had a great day!)

Mother Goose

Storybook Forest- Idlewild Park , Ligonier, PA.  Nestled in a dark green forest…..

Aunt Linda talked to a worker who said the Old Woman in the Shoe was not at home in her shoe was because she had to fill in and be Mother Goose in the late afternoon.

But to the kids, this was Mother Goose, no questions asked.

Mother gooseJack, Cousin Parker and sister Maura are listening attentively as she asks them about a giant in the forest.  Jack knew right away who we needed to find.
