His Mom’s Popple From the Eighties

This is his Mom’s Popple from the eighties. They were the desired toy of 1987 when Laura was four. Of course, I’d saved it.

Charlie (4) Is enjoying playing with it. Getting some play time a second time around.

The arms and legs tuck up into a front pocket and it looks like a big fuzzycolorful ball.  There’s a tail with a furry pompon at the end.

I asked Laura what she called it.   “Popple” was her response

I found a commercial for this toy. Not sure how long they were the craze.

Charlie’s having fun throwing it around.

Keeping Cool at the Movies

It’s been unbearably hot this past week and one cool place to go is the movies. Three of the grandkids and I went to the movie theatre to see Toy Story 4.  We took turns sitting in the chair of this cardboard commercial for an upcoming movie.

When I was a kid I loved reading Charles Addams cartoons in a big book we had in our house.

It’s a Blimp!

Three of the kids were playing in the sandbox and backyard tent when we saw and heard this blimp.  They were really excited.  It was going back and forth and all around. I had seen it earlier on Polaris Parkway but thought it was a tethered balloon for a used car place or something like that.

I shot the first with the phone and the second with the Canon 5D.  I think the phone pic looks pretty good. But the larger file could withstand a crop to read the blimp’s lettering which we could not with our eye.

So it’s beer, day two!
