Here is the delight of the day- (Stef!)

A monumental sculpture by J Seward Johnson has been at PPG Place for “about four days”, the guard said.

But don’t worry. The giant dancers will be in place until October.

Dancing at Bougival (painted in 1883 by Pierre A. Renoir ) is in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Note: August 2020. This post inspired after seeing Pittsburgh Artist Jack Puglisi ‘s Pointillist work “The Dance” from his MASTERWORKS series – remembered I had photographed this sculpture in 2014.

Dancing at Bougival as Turn of the Century Giant Sculpture

I was downtown at the Camera Repair Service again. Don’t ask. Used a different camera card to experiment and tes.

Fountains at the Carnegie and a Sad Sign at Kiva Han Coffee Shop

I love to go to the Museum at night. It was just getting dark when I arrived and you can see the progression by the fountain photos I shot with the iPhone.

The Carnegie Museum of Art has free admission on Thursday nights for February and March. When I entered,the gift shop was still open so I bought a book for school. I had received an email that photographer Dawoud Bey would lecture (free) and show his work Thursday night. I am so glad I went to hear him and look forward to seeing his show- I was sorry I didn’t get to meet him but he was mobbed by people getting him to sign his book. I would have told him how I’ve photographed my students but can’t show them outside the school. His portraits were excellent!

The Carnegie Museum Fountains in Winter

Shooting a color photo that looks black and white is fun. These pods looked chilly and the sounds of the water splashing gave a shiver right under my wool coat and scarf.

Ever watch kids play in fountains
in the summer months?
Not the day I shot this photograph/
and I doubt kids play in these
or if they do, I’m sure not for long.
Vigilant museum guards would
come out and put a halt to any splashing
