Anna Sees Northern Lights

At 10:36 Friday night, I received this photo in my text from my granddaughter Anna. We’d heard there was a Sun Storm and predictions said look north between 10pm and 3 am

From Columbus, Ohio.

From her front yard in Ohio
Anna captured this photo

So I went outside and pointed my phone North

Too much cloud cover here on the city. But there was a rosy glow in the sky.

Headed North from my Pittsburgh front yard

Here’s the sky in the South to compare

No rosy glow

Throwback Thursday. From my old Beatles magazine 1964. I was a fan.

I think I devalued it by writing on the cover 😂 – it’s sixty years old!

Yes I wrote my name on the magazine cover

Pittsburgh Marathon Notes

My friend V wondered if I was able to photograph the Taco wearing runner from 2016 in this year’s Marathon.

He didn’t run in Pittsburgh this year.

I heard back from him –

Kirk Millikan responded to my message, granting permission to post his pic. (Of course I didn’t get the message til after the post went up) , phew!

Here’s what he said in his reply-

“Thanks for the support! I still have that taco costume and actually wore it yesterday, across the country at the OC Marathon in Costa Mesa, California.”

Here are some of this years participants in Dick’s Pittsburgh Marathon

Pittsburgh Marathon this Sunday

This is Kirk Millikan of Richmond Virginia, dressed as a taco, running the Pittsburgh Marathon on May 1, 2016.

He holds Guinness world records in a Lumberjack costume in London 2023 and in Berlin wearing Lederhosen 2019 running a marathon in these costumes.

I’ll be looking for him as he reaches mile 21 in Highland Park where I live. No idea how he’ll be dressed. But I’ll have my camera at the ready.

The runners will be going right through our neighborhood. Stay tuned for updates.
