Happy Delivery Today

Early Sunday morning, Steve and I drove Mary to the train station. Our holiday travel together came to a close and she headed back to the city. New York, that is.

On the way home we stopped by La Prima Espresso in the Strip District on 21st Street. I waited in the car, anticipating that first sip. I photographed Steve carrying the coffee, as he exited the shop and posted the pic in an Instagram story, tagging La Prima.

Later in the day I received a message asking if they could use the photo and I agreed. Complimented that my photo evoked an “ Edward Hopper vibe” wow-

So today I received a delicious pound of Coffee and a souvenir mug as a thank you. That was really nice of you. Thank you La Prima Espresso.

Matt Carries Freshly Baked Croissants

He was headed to Enrico’s Biscotti Company.  I was headed to Ohio.

Wait, may I take your photo?  I wanted to get out the real camera, not the phone.

I was parked just in front of his truck

He was so nice.  His name’s Matt.  He baked these down on 31st Street and was bringing them to Enrico’s Biscotti. If you saw the movie The Bread My Sweet/ A Wedding for Bella, you’ve been inside bakery.

And this is the part you are never going to believe.

I watched that very movie (renamed A Wedding for Bella) not twelve hours before I ran into Matt taking the croissants to the same bakery in the film. If you click on the title above you can read Roger Ebert’s review.  All filmed in Pittsburgh, right in the Strip District.

Why were these people waiting in line? Had to GOOGLE to find out

Drove over the 16th Street Bridge  Saturday evening, as I returned to the city from Ohio.

As I sat at the red light at the end of the bridge I saw this line.  That’s a lot of people in line, I thought.

Camera was right there on the passenger seat and the light was red.

Line for restaurantForgot about the photo until tonight (Monday) and then googled 16th Street and Penn Avenue restaurant.

I found out why they’re all waiting in line.

Figured it was a restaurant not a concert as the music venue is on the opposite side of the street.

Yep.

 Gaucho Parilla Argentina.  a Wood-Fired Grill. 1601 Penn Avenue.

Not sure when they opened but seems everyone else already knew!
