Garden Colors

Bleeding heart

When I was going around my yard (after having been away for more than a week) I photographed all the flowers,

Was I surprised when I saw a baby deer, hidden in the bushes at the corner of my house. I learned that the mothers leave them and then return to get them. Steve saw a big deer in the backyard yesterday. I hope the little fawn got reunited with its mom.

Old Fashioned Weigela

That’s what this flowering shrub is named. I didn’t make it up. This bush grows along the driveway and the blossoms are quite lovely.

Old Fashioned Weigela. Sometimes it has a hyphen between old and fashioned.

There are still the purple ones to come

First Snow

It was a dark Friday morning when I stepped out to photograph the dusting of snow. The temperature was 34 degrees F.

Two Colors in a Single Azalea Blossom -a guest blog

My friend Vincie suggested her cousin Gloria send me this unusual azalea blossom photo today. I can see why! It’s unique.

Two colors in a single blossom.

I looked up bicolor azaleas but they are not like this amazing blossom.

We’ve not had a hard frost yet and it’s been warm for November

If any of you gardeners have experienced this phenomenon, I hope you’ll comment below. Thanks

Thanks for sending this amazing photo of your two color blossom, Gloria. Good idea, Vincie.

Thinking about frying it
