Happy 22nd Birthday Anna

Anna is the first grandchild!

How I became a grandmother.

So proud of how hard she works and all oh her swimming and academic accomplishments.

She is beautiful inside and out. She’s just the best person you could ever know.

A Sweet Find by Maura

Not a couch.

Take a look at what granddaughter Maura texted me today. Unexpected.

Not the run of the mill couch or any old chair!

Look what Maura found

I received a text from my granddaughter Maura with a few different angles of this collection of household discards. I chose this one to post.

Thanks Maura. Nice sighting!

“On my way home from the library.” Anna’s guest blog

I love that my granddaughter saw this scene and wanted to show me.

Level Three Snow Emergency in Athens

Athens in Southeast Ohio.

“All roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should be on the roadway unless it is essential to travel or a personal emergency exists. All employees should contact their employer to see if they should report to work. Those traveling on the roads may subject themselves to arrest.

Guest blogger Anna sent these photos today and she and her housemates walked to get a frozen pizza at the Dollar General as only emergency vehicles were to be on the roads.

Her roommates made an igloo

And here’s the snowplow coming around again at night

Northern Lights Night

Maura texted me some sky shots from Ohio.

I went out to my yard here in the city. Not as dramatic but exciting to me.

Surprise Find by Granddaughter West Village NYC

It was Tuesday morning.

She was jumping up and down and made me close my eyes as she guided me out the front door of my sister’s apartment building. Close your eyes, close your eyes. She was breathless.

She was so excited.

I opened my eyes and there was a couch at the curb.

Abandoned furniture. A favorite for the collection.

It was still there later in the day

A Goldfinch on a Brick Road Guest Blog

Granddaughter Prema photographed the elusive goldfinch.

Goldfinches are messengers of good luck. They bring abundance, joy, and optimism

I like that thinking.
