Abiding Love Always

Dear Daughter Laura,

Tonight on your birthday eve, I dusted off the counted cross stitch birth sampler and remembered the gift of your arrival in Germany.

A girl!

Maura says you’re not just an amazing aunt, but you’re an amazing mother. I agree.

Happy Birthday to you.

Love,

Ma (and Maura, who is visiting)

Yes, it’s the moon AND fireworks

Yes, it’s the moon AND fireworks at the same time. Columbus Ohio with the family last week for the gigantic fireworks display. We had a nice evening together.

it’s the annual effort to improve my fireworks photography.

And I am celebrating another year with my Fourth of July birthday today.

Happy Birthday to me.

Catching Happy

When I look at this image I can hear the singing of “Haaaaa…” of Happy Birthday to You.

Jack, now 11, said I could post this pic.

His sisters put on every candle they could find.

And yes, there are three flavors of ice cream at the ready on the left. Mom, Erika, was videoing for family across the miles and isn’t in this frame.

Deep Cleaning Closet Yield

Found this newspaper page from June 17,1966 today. Our eighth grade class.

My Grandmother’s High School Class 1904 picture, too.

I’m tackling a closet which had a few random treasures in the miscellaneous.

What sensible person holds onto this stuff?

Happy Birthday to my Dear Longtime Friend with much love. I hope you’re reading the blog today.

(Seriously longtime. We were in Mrs. Stewart’s class when news broke of JFK’s assassination. I remember Miss McCarthy crying in the hall).

But I figure you prefer anonymity so you know who you are.

“We were so much older then, we’re younger than that now”

Happy Birthday to my Cherished Friend

My maternal grandmother, Charlotte Rowley- bottom right

And in my mother’s handwriting -the names of the 1904 Durand High School class, Durand Illinois. Mr. Greenough didn’t get a first name?

You’ll see the eclipse on your 12th Birthday

2017 photos above

You’ll see the eclipse on your 12th birthday, Michael.   How cool is that? Wishing you a happy twelfth birthday.  You are a wonderful young man. Before you know it you’ll be a teenager!

Much love, FF Ruthie
