Evening Stroll in Reykjavik

Back home in Pittsburgh now but here’s an evening stroll from my hotel to the old city center in Reykjavik last week. Laugavegur was the street. It got dark on my way back. You can see the sea at the end of a couple of the streets. Open candles in windows were inviting

Don’t Mess with a Knitter” tattoo on upper arm- the canvas of the old woman in the window of the closed Art Gallery so no chance to give the artist credit.

Icelandic Bride

Although I’m back home in Pittsburgh, I saw this elegant bride in Reykavik on Saturday night. I’d just taken a photo of a dress in a window and walked while becoming wet in the sleeting cold rain. Just felt magical to see her. I hope she doesn’t mind .

A Peek at Iceland on the Way Home

An aisle seat on both legs of my trip from Berlin to Pittsburgh via Reykjavik, meant no window pics-  by me.  Fortunately I had great seatmates.  One guy used my phone to shoot the scene for me and then Maíra captured the view on her phone and texted them to me. I wanted to see what Iceland looked like by day.

Duck Eggs in Iceland- Guest Post

My sister and her friends went on a trip to Iceland.  Euthemia sent me this photograph yesterday in response to the farm eggs post.  I emailed and got permission to post her photo today.

Here’s what she wrote-

“Thought you’d like to see these. To add to your collection of beautiful naturally colored eggs. They taste much stronger than chicken eggs. I think scrambled with herbs would be better than the hard boiled were.

Love, Euthemia”
