Teachers in 1906 Yearbook

From my Grandmother Charlotte Rowley Van Sickle’s Rockford High School Annual 1906. I started reading the faculty pages of my grandmothers high school yearbook. I noticed none of the women were married.

And then I went to Find- a -Grave Memorial Search.

Miss Flora Eddy was the head of the local Woman’s Suffrage movement I don’t know what subject she taught, though.

Unable to find anything on Czarina Gibbings
Roberta Bull I found her married name in U of Michigan listing class of 1903
I looked up Isabelle Duffey
Mr. S.M.Kenagy went on to find religion

There are too many Louis Cooper listings even with Harvard and All American Track Team as a clue

1906 Basketball Teams

Last week’s Throwback Thursday was the Mandolin Club. This week it’s basketball season. How about Rockford High School, Illinois basketball teams in 1906?

Another page or two from my grandmother’s yearbook. No relatives on either team but thought the photos were interesting to see, even if you don’t know the people.

Mr. Paul Lucas was coach of both teams. It states “he has never once faltered in his plan.”

Not sure what they wore to play the game

Senior Picture Halloween Costume Via Laura

If you follow the blog through FB,  you probably already saw Laura’s Halloween Costume for her party at work.

I thought it was creative and would make a fun post.  She is a “Senior Picture”

Here’s she is-   as photographed by a coworker (Lori, she thinks)    Not a terrific photo credit but that can be rectified tomorrow.

Laura sports her supervisor’s actual High School Senior Photograph, held by paper clips and ribbon.

The look-alike sweater from JC Penney.

(didn’t want to post on the blog until her supervisor said she didn’t mind  🙂  I think she’s a good sport for allowing it)
