Fabulous Find in Spain- a Guest Blog

I received this fabulous photo and message from fellow blogger Darlene Foster. (You can click her name to visit her blog. )

Thank you for thinking of me, Darlene. International abandoned furniture made my day!

“It was on Calle Cerise in Orihuela Costa. Calle Cerise means Cherry Street in English. I was on my early morning dog walk when I saw this abandoned red couch by a garbage bin. I immediatly thought of Ruth and quickly snapped a picture while the dogs waited impatiently.” Darlene

What a find!

Darlene Foster is the author of the Amanda Travel books series that my granddaughters enjoy reading. Prema especially loved Amanda on the Danube as they were living right next to the river

Chimney Repair

You can see in the first photo the missing bricks. It’s not a chimney used for venting.

Repurposed Church in Pittsburgh

Now Union Project an Arts Organization

At the corner of Negley and Stanton Avenues

“In 1903, the Union Project building was constructed in the Gothic Revival style by the Second United Presbyterian Church. The building was purchased by the East End Baptist Church in 1933. The last congregation to own the building was the Union Baptist Church. By the late 1990s, that congregation had shrunk and was no longer able to maintain the building. They decided to sell it and most of the fixtures, including pews, pulpit, and pipe organ.”

Red Lights

The magic of wet pavement on Forbes Avenue at the red light. On my way home from a Poetry reading at Carlow University

A Recurring Theme

Popcorn. I like it. My sister does not.

My parents used to buy bags of Strawberry Popcorn Kernels and give them to us.

In Durand, Illinois. It was not strawberry flavored but red kernels like these pictured below.

I don’t care for microwave popcorn. I bought these two types at Soergel Orchards

Gourmet Red or Ladyfinger Petite
Popcorn, apples and a cup of milk used to be Sunday Night suppers after a large midday meal after church.

Steel Town Girl Mural in Braddock

Artist Ashley Hodder painted this amazing mural. It’s on the building across the street from A.Boss Opticians. I was picking up my daughter-in law’s glasses Monday morning.

A Find on West Street

I had to go round the block to get both views
