18th Art All Night 2015 Pittsburgh PA

Just got back from this wild event, the 18th ART ALL NIGHT in Lawrenceville.

Saturday morning I went down and registered a photograph that is hanging there now and I’ll pick it up Sunday afternoon.  This is the first year I’ve participated.  What a crowd!

Here are some of the patrons waiting to get into the warehouse to see the hundreds of artworks displayed. There are artists creating “LIVE ART” that will be auctioned or sold at noon Sunday.

Henry Watched Me Photograph Penny with Lala and James

Laura and James were leaving after Sunday dinner at Mark and Erika’s.

I said, “Grab Penny and I’ll take your photo” as the sun was setting and it was such a nice light.

And when I looked on the computer screen, there was Henry the Airedale, peering out of the storm door.

I can’t read his mind but there are several captions possible.

<3 Responsible Dog Owners

Photographed during  a walk this summer, I’m always trying to keep up….  as I was looking for a photo to post tonight, I was reminded me of an ongoing issue in the city. Probably in most cities and towns across the nation.

There are responsible dog owners (xxooxx)               and irresponsible dog owners   :-(.

You read about it on the neighborhood list-serve. Complaints.   Or see it when you take a walk in the nearby park.  Or find a deposit on your lawn.  Uh-oh.  I think there are more responsible dog owners than not but thought this was a good illustration of  a couple of responsible ones.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Everyday Life

Selected a dozen shots for this Weekly Photo Challenge. The photographer who created this challenge,  Jon Sanwell, suggests walking around and shooting people in a variety of settings throughout the day. One of my decisions was to mix it up, peopled and unpeopled shots but the trace of humanity in the unpeopled shots.

What I documented-

Walk the dogs, cook breakfast, make coffee, catch the school bus, sit in traffic,  run out of milk and go to the market, home repairs (thanks to Andy’s father’s screws and nails collection in her basement ceiling)feed the dog, put out the trash, buy a lottery ticket, gather with the family,dine with friends.  Everyday life can be so fine.

Rusty the Long Hair Dachshund Chases a Spot of Light

While in the middle of a friend’s photo shoot of vintage clothing, her mother’s long haired dachshund started following my watch reflection and chased it all around.  I’ve never seen a dog exhibit this behavior.  Trying to capture it was spontaneous and difficult as the watch was on my left wrist and the camera in my right hand.  No chance to focus. It was just happening. Stop action seemed the best way to try and show the motion. Min Pin Tigger makes a cameo appearance.Wish I had a real video to show it better.
