Walking in the Allegheny Cemetery this morning, we saw many downed branches and trees. Crews were working on storm cleanup. You could hear the chainsaws.
Those 70+ mph winds did a lot of damage Tuesday night. Some school districts have been closed for 3 days.
Power has been restored to many areas but there are still thousands who do not have power.

Downtown Pittsburgh. There are barrels along the sidewalk, filled with daffodils and pansies. Pansies. They don’t seem to mind the chilly temps this evening. I love the velvet petal faces.
All about Mourning Doves
Such a recognizable sound. This pair was on the neighbors’ roof list this morning. Unfortunately the snow flurries blowing don’t show up in this photo. They mate for life and are monogamous.
A visit from a mourning dove is thought to be “ ….positive sign, symbolizing peace, hope, and a message of love and comfort”

In the city of Pittsburgh you can call 311 and report a pothole. That doesn’t mean the pothole repair /road maintenance crew will be able to get to your neighborhood immediately. It’s a year round effort in these parts. You really have to watch out for potholes when you’re driving.
Due to the freeze/thaw in our region, this is the time of year when the potholes appear and grow, endangering your tires, axles and suspension system of your car, not to mention alignment.
A guy rolled down his window and said “you should turn around and take a picture of an even bigger one back there”, he pointed.
