A Red Light on the West End Bridge

I don’t like the shaky sensation of the bridge vibrating and feeling movement when you have to stop on it!

The light at the end of the bridge was red today as we left town.

My friend Vincie clued me in on this route to avoid going through the Ft. Pitt Tunnel.

It was Friday afternoon and there was traffic. We were headed for Ohio. Such threatening skies and heavy rain, so heavy we stopped for a bite to eat in West Virginia as we travelled the two hundred miles to Columbus. Happy we got there safely.

Here’s what I saw as we sat at the light-

Anna Sees Northern Lights

At 10:36 Friday night, I received this photo in my text from my granddaughter Anna. We’d heard there was a Sun Storm and predictions said look north between 10pm and 3 am

From Columbus, Ohio.

From her front yard in Ohio
Anna captured this photo

So I went outside and pointed my phone North

Too much cloud cover here on the city. But there was a rosy glow in the sky.

Headed North from my Pittsburgh front yard

Here’s the sky in the South to compare

No rosy glow

I see a tiny face

Granddaughter Anna (20) sent these two photos of the sky. She took them from the seventh floor of the library. Sunset was at 7:55 and she texted me these at 7:17. These two pictures of the sky would perfectly illustrate the adjective foreboding.

I thought them quite a contrast to yesterday‘s post of grandchildren’s rainbows.

Columbus Ohio Storms Beautiful Rainbows

My granddaughter Maura(15) sent me the first photo. She’d gotten out of her high school 90 minutes early, due to the tornado warnings. Their Spring break was last week as she lives in a suburb of Columbus.

My grandson Charlie (8) has Spring break this week, as he goes to the Columbus City Schools. He took this next photo with his tablet. My daughter Laura texted it to me.

Fortunately neither family experienced damage or loss of property as so many others in the state did from the serious storms.

Here’s another photo Maura took of the light in top half of the trees
