My sister shared this view from her West Village apartment window tonight 9/11. The moon and the memorial tribute beams of light. You’d have to be in NJ to see both streams.

Will the real Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding please stand up!

In 2013 I did a NYC Bakery blog post which included Magnolia Bakery.

It was Tuesday morning.
She was jumping up and down and made me close my eyes as she guided me out the front door of my sister’s apartment building. Close your eyes, close your eyes. She was breathless.
She was so excited.
I opened my eyes and there was a couch at the curb.
Abandoned furniture. A favorite for the collection.

If couches could talk……

It was still there later in the day

At Bleecker and Morton Streets in NYC Monday, today. Mary texted me this discarded futon pic. Adding it to the abandoned furniture file. Thanks Mary. Wonder what I’ll blog tomorrow?

On the way to the parking garage as I was leaving town, luggage in hand….I had to stop and take a photo.
There is a Balloon Banksy at work (although the article says he’s retired) Joel Klein has been in the ballon biz for more than 40 years and runs Big Head Balloons and you can see his creations on Instagram bigheadballoons.
Above The West Village Knit and Needle

My sister waited outside the Yarn shop while I popped inside. We were walking back from the parking garage by the River.
Mary had spotted the handsome dog above the entrance.
I bought a couple of skeins of Tuscan Gold DK weight yarn -50% silk 50% Merino wool by Rosie’s Colors in Brooklyn.

My sister made Raffetto’s Wild Mushroom Ravioli and Broccoli tonight. Parmesan cheese on top.
After we ate, we took a walk. No gelato tonight. We already had an Italian ice earlier in the afternoon
I had raspberry Italian ice from Rocco’s Pasticceria
It was such a lovely evening. Lots of people out to dinner and enjoying the summer night.

Bleecker Street Festival tomorrow 10-6
Last night my sister and I were walking around the neighborhood and window shopping at Naadam Ultra Thin on Bleecker Street. Cashmere and silk store. “Responsibly Sourced Sustainable Mongolian Cashmere Clothing” – The sign says soft, soft, soft world.
Can you find the two of us with the goat’s reflection? And the goat is not a taxidermy specimen but a large replica, like a giant stuffed toy.
