Franklin Park Conservatory and the Columbus Main Library have creative model train displays created by Applied Imagination (click for article) a company founded by Paul Busse.
Here’s the Enchanted Express Garden Railway at Franklin Park in Columbus Ohio. You can see the Three Little Pigs Houses, Rapunzels Tower and the Old Woman in the Shoe House and Cinderella’s Castle to name a few.. I think Charlie could watch the display revolve all day long, waiting for the trains to reappear, around and around.
December first- I got in my daughter’s car and found another Leaf on the windshield today.
I took a photo of it and said “ another leaf but with blue sky today.”
When we got where we were going (Worthington OH) Charlie (4) said
“I’ve got a Leaf on my window. I want to take a picture.”
I handed back the phone and he took the second photo.

These turkeys are in Hardy Virginia, photographed seven years ago.
My grandson Jack (12) sent me this sunset photo he took, probably after Swim Team practice. I thought it had a nice mood to it.
This is his Mom’s Popple from the eighties. They were the desired toy of 1987 when Laura was four. Of course, I’d saved it.
Charlie (4) Is enjoying playing with it. Getting some play time a second time around.
The arms and legs tuck up into a front pocket and it looks like a big fuzzycolorful ball. There’s a tail with a furry pompon at the end.
I asked Laura what she called it. “Popple” was her response
I found a commercial for this toy. Not sure how long they were the craze.

From the top floor of a hospital parking lot. Columbus, Ohio. Jack (12) texted me his photograph from this vantage point. You know it pleases me when a grandchild sees something, takes a photograph and sends it to me. I told him he is honing his eye. He asked me, is that good? Yes, it is.
