National Geographic photographers do this much better but thought I would try. The hummingbirds dart around really fast. We sat in chairs outside and David called it watching Hummingbird TV. A great show.

First stop coffee and breakfast rolls at Cinnamon Twisp Bakery, then Methow Valley Chamber Music Festival Barn where we heard world class musicians open rehearsal. We drove to Twisp and Winthrop then on to the North Cascades Goat Mountain. We hiked a steep trail to see mountains in haze from wildfires in British Columbia. No guardrails on the narrow gravel road that wound up the mountain. Everything is hazy due to wildfires in the mountains. Stehekin area. Smoke across the landscape in Eastern Washington. Reardan WA, population 600 in 2000 census. On the way from the Spokane Airport with my sister, driving a rental to our brother’s in Okanogan. Long day of travel. Wheat fields on either side of the 2 lane road. Grain elevators in the background. It’s almost a 3 hour drive from the airport to his place near the Columbia River.
