Inflatable Santa and Car Headlights, Bloomfield Front Porch Holy Family and a Toy Soldier House

The shortest day of light in the year.  No wonder everyone is wrapping tiny lights around bare branches, plugging in cords, and flipping the switch to make it bright.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Yellow

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Yellow.”

Yes, they said they threw us a curveball with the challenge for yellow right in the midst of silver and red and green holiday colors.  No lemons available in the house.

Looked Like Art to Me

Steve received a gift box of apples from a former colleague.  When he opened the box and placed it on the kitchen table, it looked like art to me. Found art?

Idared, Empire, Golden Delcious, and Winesap.  An orchard from New York.

(my knitted scarf at the bottom, I’d just come home late from school due to my photographing the Winter Concert.)

So How Do You Feel About Cheesecake?

I ordered a piece of New York Cheesecake when I visited my sister in NYC.  With the fresh fruit on top. A generous amount that contrasted nicely with it.

There is no crust.

I thought it tasted really good and had a smooth texture, satisfying and rich but not too rich or sweet.

Mary said when she took a spoonful,  it felt like she was biting into a block of cream cheese.

Her pastry looked delicious, filled with ricotta.

Here is the piece I ordered and ate, almost to the last bite.

Just wondering how you feel about cheesecake?

My sister-in-law Bobbie has a great recipe I have baked for parties over the years and guests devour it.

That is, if they like cheesecake.

Outdoor Inflatable Yard Decor or Illuminated Plastic Blow Molds?

SO when did the inflatables show up on the lawns of America? During the day they lie flat.  At night they whir and are filled with air, move a bit in the wind.

The first one found while pulled over to a curb on the North Side, checking directions on the travel app.

Shot with the cell phone from a car window.

Zoobots are Riding Robotic Animals

There was to be a Victorian Christmas Fair at St. Luke’s School on Saturday the 6th.  Friday. preparations were in full swing.

I’d never heard of a ZOOBOT but read the listing on the poster at the gate.

Unfortunately, they had a very rainy day for the event.

One more gallery of New York City.  I’ve been home a week.

By looking at the photographs,  I’m still enjoying the time I had with my sister.

I was a tourist for sure!
