Breakfast with the Queen

Breakfast with the Queen on Monday morning. Out on the front porch again while summer is still here.

I went and got the solar powered waving figurine out of the dining room window to join me for breakfast. Why?

My friend Vincie went to London (and Paris) last month and brought me a lovely souvenir. A jar of Rhubarb Raspberry Vanilla Bean Jam from Selfridges Food Hall. She knows those three are my favorite flavors. What a combination.

Fancy. Nothing like jam and butter on toast. Very tasty.

Put my two balls of sock yarn in the little shopping bag, too!

BTW Selfridges was voted Best Department Store in the World.

So Long Ohio

Charlie’s face says it all. Again. Maura is my guest blogger today. Friday morning she took this photo with my phone as we backed into the driveway, saying so long to cousin Charlie. I drove Maura back to her house and then I left for Pittsburgh. We had a nice time together and it’s always hard to say goodbye.

Pick a Peck of Purple Peppers

Pick a peck of purple peppers. James is growing these in a pot, out front on the steps. Don’t think there will enough for a peck, though. They are such a beautiful color. Not sure about their heat factor either. I’d never seen purple peppers before.

Thinking About Mommy and Daddy Going Out for a Special Night

Charlie was thinking about Mommy snd Daddy going out for a special night. Saying goodbye to them as they pulled down the driveway.

Just deep thinking, no tears.

He and I had a nice evening together, and as he said “you have to have a kid to go out for a special night.”
