Therapy Dogs Guest Blog

My friend Joanne sent this photo from Florida

”Here’s what I met when I was at the Council of Aging yesterday to drop off auction donations.  A little group of therapy dogs tired out from their weekly gig bringing joy to the residents …. their names are Juan Pablo, Ricco Suave, Penelope and Magnolia…..”   Photo and text by Joanne

Think of it as a Donation

Let’s face it, the odds are not in your favor.

But Maura had fun at St. Raphael Church Bazaar in Morningside. Got some good used books, too.

Artist at Work: Stephen Hankin

Artist Stephen Hankin, painting at The Frick, Pittsburgh. Although I interrupted his concentration, he graciously allowed me to photograph him at work. Said I could blog him, too.  And here I was wondering what I’d photograph after the People at Work Show was over.  If you live in Pittsburgh or plan to visit and would like to tour his studio (where he has 180 paintings on the walls) you can contact him stephenhankinart(at)gmail(dot)(com)02D3824D-E528-4054-8678-70E2B759C6B906FD85EF-B8D5-4300-B855-6F433C9ECDE1CF4FC959-EC20-468A-9EAD-824089FCA3D110FF63AC-26BE-449C-8597-E75EFE472196The front of his card shows his studio with paintings on the walls.

Abiding Love Always

Dear Daughter Laura,

Tonight on your birthday eve, I dusted off the counted cross stitch birth sampler and remembered the gift of your arrival in Germany.

A girl!

Maura says you’re not just an amazing aunt, but you’re an amazing mother. I agree.

Happy Birthday to you.

Love,

Ma (and Maura, who is visiting)

Pittsburgh Streetcar #1724 at the Heinz History Center

In a week’s time I hosted Charlie and Laura and then Michael,Jack and Maura.

The streetcar parked in the Heinz History Center lobby was a big hit with all the grandchildren

Silent Sunday

Teatime With Fancy Teabag and Beaker

Six word Saturday.

Teatime with fancy teabag and beaker.

The water’s boiling in the electric kettle. One fancy teabag waiting to be brewed into an inviting cup of fragrant tea. I let it steep.

Thank you dear friend for the lovely gift of fancy teabags. So elegant. And flavorful. Sipping tea and reflecting as you suggested. You encourage me always!

Mmmmm
