TwinkleLights and Gate Guards in Millvale PA

Be sure to see Becky B’s Wavelight as she hosts the #JanuaryLight challenge

My post today is Twinklelights and two gate guards in Millvale PA. Wednesday night.

As these two stand guard at the gate, the twinklelights brighten the oncoming night.

Christmas Lights, Candlelight, and Moonlight

Taking up Becky’s January Square Challenge of LIGHT.

Not my house, but it is so inviting and the candles are flickering along the sidewalk.

And yes, that is the moon up at the top of the photo.

The temperature dropped to 32 and the lights shine in the darkness, making winter beautiful.

Becky says (via Cee’s Photography post of a lighthouse at Twilight)

I’m proposing our January squares are filled with words ending in light that means one or more of the following; sunlight, floodlights, firelight, skylights, candlelight, sidelights, starlight, footlights, moonlight, streetlights, torchlight, taillights, gaslight, headlights, or, as I have today, twilight – whether that be the astronomical, nautical or civil twilight. And feel free to find your own _____light, there are more than 50 words which end in light!

Circles in Squares

A one sided Tic-tac-toe.

The dining room fireplace tiles and the balls of yarn were right there. I took them out of their reflective yarn bowls and centered them on the square tiles. Fun.

Coming in on the end of this Month of March challenge created by BeckyB https://beckybofwinchester.com/2018/03/01/march-square/

52 in 2016- Week #1 Reflection

The other day I was reading Say it With a Camera blog.   Mike Hardisty’s accomplishment of 52 in 2015 intrigued me.    I read about how to participate in the weekly themed challenge.  The part that appealed to me is you have to take photographs during the week of the theme- no archived shots.  I read the rules of the group and signed on the participate in the 52 in 2016 Challenge and Day 1 of Week 1 is Monday January 4th.

I like the idea of a new goal in photography. Actively working on something different.  A challenge.

Week #1 theme is reflection.  Today I was watching my grandson Charlie while his mom, Laura, was packing away the Christmas tablecloth and cleaning up the kitchen. She had just polished the electric kettle and I was standing there in her kitchen and thought, reflection.
