Threadbare Replacement

My recent post showing a threadbare linen dish towel, prompted my friend Joanne to unearth an identical Lupin printed towel she had tucked away in her stash. Approximately 15 years after her having given me the original! What a surprise to open the mail yesterday and find it folded in tissue paper, new with a tag. Thank you Joanne.

Hyacinth Fragrance- yes or no?

The scent of Hyacinth smells like Easter to me. I wouldn’t want to wear it as a perfume, though.

I’d thought it a female name but looked up Hyacinth in Greek Mythology and discovered he was killed by the bounce of a discus, attributed to Zephyr blowing on it.

Hyacinth – a breath of Spring and seem easily identified, even if you were blindfolded.

Could you distinguish the difference between – a lily, narcissus and hyacinth with just your olfactory sense?

There are More Buds to Open

The second bloom iris is at it again with a new bloom and there are at least three more to open if they don’t freeze some night soon.

An Iris in November

I think the iris thinks it’s Spring.

Tonight we’ll be below freezing.

Two Bees or Not Two Bees

Two Bees

From Joan’s garden. Probably the last bee photos until next Spring. Fancy Cosmos.
