Goats Along the Monongahela

Tuesday morning I met two good friends for brunch. We used to teach together at Greenfield School years ago. Although I’d written it on my calendar, I’m so used to not going out much I had to receive a text from Donna asking if I was on my way. Oooops!

After we ate, Sue and I walked along the River Trail. We had a couple of years to catch up with one another.

Donna, we are so sorry you missed the goats!

We saw this sign first, as Sue had told me it was one of the nations busiest rivers for barge traffic.

As we walked along the trail, (which goes all the way to Washington DC and Sue’s sons have biked it) we saw an electric fence and this sign

Sue spotted the goats as I was taking photos of the underbelly of the Homestead Grays Bridge

I’d posted about goats at the tea store in Millvale Landscaping Goats at Knit Night and also at a Rent a Goat at Pittsburgh Botanical Garden in Oakdale a couple of years ago. And you might remember I booked a Goat With a Note for a zoom meeting.

Landscaping Goats at Knit Night

Six HaveUHerdLandscaping Goats have been munching some undesired vegetation behind Tupelo Honey Teas in Millvale, PA. They’ll eat anything, I’m told. Even poison ivy!

We were knitting at knit night on the back porch of the shop, and I snapped a few shots of the goats.

Taking a well earned rest

Book a Goat for your Video Call

You can book a Goat with a Note video or a 5 minute call from the Live goat Cam during your video call or Zoom meeting.

The goats live at CronkshawFold Farm in Lancashire, United Kingdom.

The bookings help support their farm. I hear there will be baby goats soon.

I booked the live goat for a McWalker Yarns Knitting Zoom and ordered a goat video for a Happy Hour, due to time zones and availability.

It was a lot of fun and everyone got a kick out of the goats appearance.

Here’s the Goat with a Note eating the message

Food Revolution Day Pittsburgh

Fortunately, I ran into a former colleague and her daughter and they were able to explain what was happening at the field at Obama Academy this afternoon when I was driving home from school. Food Revolution Day!   In conjunction with Jamie Oliver, the third annual Food Revolution Day was taking place all over the globe today.

I took home an organic purple pepper plant for my neighbor to plant in his garden.

Here is Jen’s daughter Wylie, feeding a kid at the petting zoo.
