Yes, an unexpected bunch of bananas. We were driving down to the swim meet to watch Jack and Maura and my grandson Michael spotted a bunch of bananas in the grass. I said “quick, take a picture of them” and he did.
So Michael is the guest blogger today with the bunch of bananas he spotted and captured with the phone.
My six word Saturday. Purdue University Choir Sang National Anthem
My grandson Michael and his teammates got the opportunity to play on the professional basketball court on Friday afternoon. We took a bus from Columbus Ohio to Indianapolis Indiana and the Indiana Pacers and Bankers Life Fieldhouse staff were most welcoming. Since I don’t have permission to post the Middle and High Schoolers photos online, I am showing the Purdue University Choir singing of the National Anthem before tip-off of the Pro game we watched Friday evening. The Pacers played the Pelicans. (click the bold for game recap) Marquette grad Wesley Matthews scored 15 of his 24 points in the third quarter. Very exciting to watch him tie it up and then go ahead after the Pacers lagged behind for the entire first half of the game. Pacers won 126-111.
We got back to Michael’s school about 12:50 AM and it’s almost 2 AM now so I will sign off.
My grandson Charlie loves to play with his father’s childhood treasure box of toys. James’ mom brings them out when he visits. I took these last month when we stayed at the farm.
Saturday night after the anniversary party, we spent the night at the farm in Crestline. There was blowing snow, drifting across the roads. The roads too bad to drive back to the city in the dark.
Sunday morning we had a nice breakfast and watched Chuck blow and plow the quarter mile drive to the main road. Charlie has fun watching and the dogs were in and out.
Then Charlie bundled up and went outside-tried his hand at shoveling- but not for long.
It was too cold.
My camera lens fogged up with condensation from the temperature change, outdoors to indoors.

The brand of shirt was Health-Tex and I’d say it held up quite well. Who knows why I saved it.
It’s been a lot of activity this weekend.
Charlie enjoyed seeing the Destination Moon exhibit at the Heinz History Center. His second visit.
We went home for lunch and later in the afternoon we went to Phipps Conservatory where he drove a cab in Cuba. He told us to not stand in front of the car while he’s driving.
Sunday it was dinosaurs at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History
And the sun came out today, shining on the Cathedral of Learning at Pitt 
Charlie (3 1/2) watched Laura and James pull out of the driveway and head to a family wedding last Friday the 27th. Mary and I stayed and played with Charlie.
He didn’t cry. Penny watched by his side.
I’ve posted similar pictures of the same scene. You wonder what’s going through his mind. A little wave.
At Laura’s house Wednesday afternoon. My grandmother knit the afghan on the back of the couch.
I’ve got mail.
The mail carrier brought it today.
Not just catalogs, flyers with pizza coupons and bulk rate circulars. Real mail, not just junk, addressed to me.
What a happy surprise.

Charlie was thinking about Mommy snd Daddy going out for a special night. Saying goodbye to them as they pulled down the driveway.
Just deep thinking, no tears.
He and I had a nice evening together, and as he said “you have to have a kid to go out for a special night.”
