Nothing like this!
My son Mark was in town for business and we looked at an old photo album he hadn’t seen before. You want your offspring to know who has gone before. Already there are faces in the album for whom I have no names.
But here are my father Roy and his siblings and parents. To see and older photo of the family you can click this blog post Heritage
This morning, when I heard today’s date, I realized it was on this day, eighty years ago, that my parents married. (Well I had a bit of help as my friend counted the decades by tens.)Although they passed away in 2000 and 2002 I was thinking about their wedding day all those years ago.
Durand Illinois. August 28, 1939. Not sure who took this home movie but here are a few shots from the screen. Roy Joseph Hendricks and Marian Van Sickle and family members in photos below.
Saturday night after the anniversary party, we spent the night at the farm in Crestline. There was blowing snow, drifting across the roads. The roads too bad to drive back to the city in the dark.
Sunday morning we had a nice breakfast and watched Chuck blow and plow the quarter mile drive to the main road. Charlie has fun watching and the dogs were in and out.
Then Charlie bundled up and went outside-tried his hand at shoveling- but not for long.
It was too cold.
My camera lens fogged up with condensation from the temperature change, outdoors to indoors.
For my cousins who are across the country- Here are some photos and names and dates.
