Bleeding heart

When I was going around my yard (after having been away for more than a week) I photographed all the flowers,

Was I surprised when I saw a baby deer, hidden in the bushes at the corner of my house. I learned that the mothers leave them and then return to get them. Steve saw a big deer in the backyard yesterday. I hope the little fawn got reunited with its mom.

Hidden Pictures

Grandson Roy and I walked down to the neighbors to see his yard art. Can you find the two of us in the photos?

“Who do you honor on Memorial Day?”

My blogging friend Audrey of Minnesota Prairie Roots wrote a poignant Memorial Day post Remembering, Honoring, Grieving on Memorial Day

She asks, “Who do you honor on this Memorial Day?”

Here’s my response to her question.

Uncle Alan Ray Hendricks. my father’s younger brother.

My sister Mary ordered a Commemorative Brick at the WWII Museum in New Orleans. as a memorial tribute to Uncle Alan.

Writing a Grocery List

We were sitting at the dining room table. The afternoon light was nice.

There’s just one item on this list.

And Laura wrote it.

Cantaloupe.

Roy (2 3/4) is busy writing down some other items he’s like to get at the grocery store.

This is the third time I’ve posted about grocery lists it’s a topic I think about frequently.

You eat. You need to shop again. Cook. And then again. You need ingredients.

Do you make a list to take to the store?

I write a list and then forget to take it with me. I love finding other people’s lists in the cart. (Click to see old post)
