High Heels on Ice

Saturday morning, I did a model shoot and my fashionable client gave me permission to post her shoe photos.

It’s not always easy to get a perfect shoe shot.

We collaborate, experiment, try new things and these came out nicely.

I was sporting my Dansko Confetti clogs so marvel at the design of these fancy shoes.

She walks in them with ease and elegance.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Scale

Scale

Do you “think about size relationships when you look” at the photos?

Going to see what else I can come up with this week, specifically for the challenge.

Hidden Pictures-Find the Neighbor’s Car

From the Archives- February 2010
Five years ago this was the winter scene on my street. Today it’s a “light dusting. ” Not sure if the groundhog’s prediction of six more weeks of winter is true but I hope we don’t have a repeat of Winter 2015.

Dress for the Weather Series

Maura was getting ready to go outside and the accessories were on the floor in a nice light.

The boots, scarf and gloves looked like a still life to me. Their placement.

She’d gotten on the snow pants and coat already.

It was an effort but a successful one.

She ignored me as I photographed her preparing to go outside and play.  Gave me an opportunity to experiment with the mirrorless camera. DSC01296

More in Depth

Still thinking about depth.  A second gallery for the weekly challenge.  What draws your eye into the picture.

Cabin Fever? Toss Stuffed Animals in the Air, Practice Motion Photography as the Kids Catch Them

It was Jack’s idea.  Take a picture of him tossing his sock monkey in the air.

This weekend I got to be a useful grandma and help watch the younger 3 grandkids while Anna and her mom went to Cincinnati to a swim meet.

The bonus is I got to practice photography-   catch motion, suffed animal mid-air, press the shutter, experiment with the new SONY mirrorless camera.   Get a sense of the timing.

The kids were in jammies and ready for bed.

But hey, let’s throw stuffed animals in the air!  Maura got the groundhog up and  his shadow appeared on the wall!

Exuberant Airedale and Kids Enjoy the Sunday Snow

Today’s post shot with the mirrorless Sony camera.

Henry was ecstatic it was snowing this morning.

He ran around like a rabbit.  Playing in it.  Rubbing his nose into a drift.  Snow in his beard. He posed for me on the fire pit.

I didn’t even ask him to.  I never saw a dog enjoy a snowfall as much as Henry did today.

The kids got on their snowpants and boots and slid down the front lawn and built a snowman
