Throwback 2013

Throwback to 2013.

Trying to get that photo in the backyard with the grandkids and a puppy. Photographed by my DIL or her Mom.  I can’t remember. I’m holding the baby doll in the second shot, you can see the hair. Six years sure went by fast!

Throwback Thursday September 1916

Marian Van Sickle Robert E. Van Sickle John R. Van Sickle. My mother with the parasol and her brothers. Unfortunately, I don’t know who the twins are.

Durand, Illinois September 1, 1916

Peter, his mother and his sisters

Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail. The ones who did what they were supposed to do.  Mother Rabbit returning from market. And Peter. Looking enormous compared to the rest of his family.

No one I know, actively collects ceramic figurines these days.

Or wants to dust them.

But they look dear to me. I took them out from behind the glass to photograph them. Peter certainly is larger than his mom.

I know, two cute rabbit posts in a week.

Artist Bill Pfahl’s painting in the background.

Throwback Thursday – 13 years ago

One of my favorites.  A sweet moment in my driveway, thirteen years ago.

Anna and her brother Michael.

The doll belonged to Laura and is now at her home with their cousin Charlie.

Headed to the Car Last Saturday

A Six Word Saturday. From Columbus Ohio

Leaving the Franklin Park Conservancy last Saturday afternoon after a nice lunch at the Cafe of macaroni and cheese or the grilled cheese sandwich. See the next photo

We saw Mark the Bugman http://www.bugs.org/ who offered some worms sautéed in olive oil. I couldn’t hear the species as there was a lot of excitement and noise from all the children attending the presentation. I spoke with a mom who said she tasted the olive oil primarily. I thought I should sample one but just couldn’t. Help yourself.

Showing off the giant egg sac of the Praying Mantis.

Early Morning Striped Light, Then and Now

I’m sleeping in Maura’s bed this week, while I’m in Ohio, but she came in to dress for school this morning.

As she stood in front of the mirror, the early morning light came in through the blinds.

I remembered.

Somewhere on the blog,a few years ago, I’d captured a shot of Maura with the same striped light on her hair. At least I thought it was the same light.

Her bedroom has eastern exposure.

So I went and searched and found it. September 2013 see the second photo.

The stripes are thin white light in 2013.

The blinds must have been almost closed completely.

Movie Ticket Stubs from the Sixties

Who knows why I glued these into a leather bound scrapbook all those years ago? Who knows why I still have the scrapbook?
