Waiting. Patiently.
My granddaughter Anna made the beautiful flower covered ceramic art in her high school ceramics class. She gave it to me at Christmas. I put a glass jar inside to hold the stems in water.
The daffodils are from Ireland, but bought them at Trader Joe’s Monday afternoon. I’m sure many will have opened up by morning.

Seen last week when I was on Ohio, I was walking to the swim meet from the parking garage. And I did experienced exactly what the article quoted below says….”a fun surprise to stumble upon”
“The Garden of Constants at the Ohio State University is a fun surprise to stumble upon. The massive, colorful numbers bring a whimsical air to the lawn outside the engineering building. Mary reads to a Maura at the Met.
As you get gas at the BP station on Route A1A, you can see the colorful Wildflower mural that artist Steven Teller has been painting on this house, which is his studio. There’s an article in the St Augustine Record about his artwork… “displayed Mexican petunias, dune daisies and Gaillardia blanket flowers. He said he noticed that wildflowers became more abundant in Vilano Beach after two hurricanes (Irma,Matthew) rocked the area and spread seeds.”
Getting gas at night is the second photo. Glad our hostess Joanne drove by in the daylight so we could photograph the mural again, not just in the car headlights.

Because I misplaced the envelope with the 2 school photos Maura gave me, I ordered a basic package so I could replace them.
I was supposed to give her cousin Charlie one before they got lost. Oops!
The minimum order is a “basic package”. What to do with the extra sheet? Envision possibilities for the future.
This I can tell you. It’s tricky to paint and draw on top of these school photos. Clearly I should have researched a neater solution. But I’m going to frame the sheet and take it out for Maura (just turned 11 on Nov 17th if you’re following) when I visit. Original photos credit to HR Imaging of Delaware Ohio 
“Quick Anna. Get my phone. Take pictures for me” we rolled down her window.
I’d picked her up at cross country practice about four. On the way home the Ohio landscape was reminiscent of Van Gogh’s Wheat Fields and Cypresses to me but I was driving. Anna kept shooting. Thanks Anna for capturing the scene.

Dovecote, a vintage boutique in Aspinwall Pennsylvania, located on Brilliant Avenue. What a great address. Brilliant!
My friend Vincie and I were shoe shopping at Soothe the Sole on Brilliant Avenue and Holly (at the shoe store) suggested we check out Dovecote right across the street.
Here’s what we discovered –
The boutique is definitely eclectic and affordably priced. Scroll down for more details. There are vintage items, consignment items, handcrafts, antiques, jewelry, home decor and holiday fun. Sports team theme including black and gold potholders and darling onesies with hand sewn embellishment, adorable ruffles.
The felted Mr. Rogers created by Artist Christine caught my eye, and the Pennsylvania ceramic platter would be cool to serve from at a dinner party.

When out of town guests visit, it’s an opportunity to be a tourist where you live and appreciate the sights the city has to offer. We parked and went into Heinz Chapel and I’ve been in many times. Each time you enter you think, hmmm I could be in France, the architecture and feeling of the sanctuary is remarkable. Some of the stained glass windows are seven stories high. I learned that they were all designed by a single artist
“The chapel’s 23 windows were designed by Charles Connick and created at his Boston studio. The windows total approximately 4,000 square feet (370 m2) and contain nearly 250,000 pieces of glass. There are 391 identifiable people in the windows, a large supporting cast of anonymous individuals, and an extensive variety of flora and fauna.”
