Two Days Ago it was 95 Degrees

Two days ago it was ninety five degrees. Schools were dismissed early due to the temperatures.

Do you think this is a ribbon leaf Japanese maple tree?  I’d no idea there were so many varieties. I need to take a leaf identification refresher course.

Backyard Color Amidst the Weeds

Ailanthus and asters amongst the weeds.

In fact the tree is a weed tree.

The asters pushed up and survived despite neglect. As the sun was setting the colors called to me through the kitchen window and I went out and caught them. img_0907

She was in the passenger seat. We had just left Laura’s. The traffic was backed up for the railroad crossing.

She caught the tree with the formerly green leaves, now rust colored.  Don’t want to see the summer end.
