Rocking Horses in the City

Found a new rocking horse in the city on Wednesday night. East Liberty near the Fireside Grill. Where Zeke’s Coffee roasts their beans. Must be Zeke’s mascot?

Here’s a Gallery of rocking horses seen around Pittsburgh, from previous blogposts.

Photo Snapped from Phineas Street

I was headed to I-279 and pulled into Phineas Street on the North Side to capture beloved Pittsburgh Pirate, Roberto Clemente’s likeness on this building.

Artist Jeremy Raymer painted this stunning mural. Here’s an article written by Bob Bauder about the painting.

The building that served as the “canvas” for Baseball Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente’s portrait is Verdetto’s Bar and Restaurant.

Throwback Thursday

Eight years ago in Hardy, Virginia.

Four grandkids running in the field behind their other grandmother’s home-instead of posing quietly for a Christmas card photo.

We had fun, if my memory serves me right. Ha.   I’ll have to see what the family sent out for the card that year.

Key Lime on Graham

After lunch summer treat, shared with a friend.

One of Leona’s Ice Cream Sandwiches, cut in half at the deli counter.

Perfect for us to share.

An ice cream sandwich with pizazz.

Where’s the step?

You’re looking to put your foot on the first step, to walk down unfamiliar stairs- suddenly you see lines and shadows and stop to take a quick photo of the intersecting shadows and edges.

Made it to the bottom in one piece but you can see the distraction of designs.

Columbus Skyline Captured by Jack

From the top floor of a hospital parking lot. Columbus, Ohio.  Jack (12) texted me his photograph from this vantage point. You know it pleases me when a grandchild sees something, takes a photograph and sends it to me. I told him he is honing his eye. He asked me, is that good?  Yes, it is.

Found on my Doorstep

I didn’t hear the doorbell ring or the knocker on the front door but look what was left on my  doorstep.

I found a beautiful bouquet from my neighbor’s garden.

A sweet note attached to the glass milk bottle.

Thank you Marion. A lovely way to start this sad day of remembrance and memories.

Your flowers are absolutely gorgeous.
