Chair Pad Adhesive Stuck on Wooden Seat

It’s better than it was.

The cushion’s no slip grip rubber came off and was glued to the wooden seat.

This is a chair we got about eight years ago in an antique store in Columbus. I brought it back to Pittsburgh and it’s looking much better now.

Not finished yet.

Retro Macrame Pot Hanger Materials

This vintage book of directions for making Macrame Plant Hangers or rather Macrame Pot Hangers and this huge twine were in the donations my friend Donna gave to my art teacher friend Bob.

In the seventies, I never used such a thick rope but instead a thinner white cord and some wooden beads.

Macrame belts were holding up lots of bell bottom jeans when I was in college.

Do you or have you ever done macrame?

Like A Spotlight on the Bathroom Wall

Late afternoon sunlight streamed through the window and onto the photo on the bathroom wall.

The boat is a photo I took in Croatia about 9 years ago.

The sun really made the photo come alive.

I used to watch the curtain blow in the wind

I used to watch the curtain blow in the wind. Someone left that top right window open.

For years.

Last week I photographed the window with the moving curtain, wishing I’d had time to video it. Red lights don’t last long enough.

Then last night, the window is gone. Steve was driving. I photographed the missing window with the eerie curtain. And I photographed it again tonight as I was driving over the RD Fleming Bridge again and got a quick shot. Just like that, it’s demolished.

Philadelphia’s Primrose Yarn Arrives in Millvale PA

Monday afternoon, McWalker Yarns in Millvale unveiled the beautiful line of Primrose Yarn Co, an Indi-dyed yarn company featuring a variety of weights and fiber content.  A huge box bursting with softness and luscious colors was just shipped from Philadelphia and is now displayed at McWalker Yarns.

Joanna had seen the yarn at Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool Festival and has used Primrose Yarn Co for many sweaters,  She’s an ardent fan of it. See her model one of her creations below.

It was a great Primrose Premier Party at the yarn store, with a spread of spanakopita, hummus, carrots, fruit flavored Italian sodas, cheese and crackers, topped off with chocolate covered marshmallows and Peanut Butter Cups. Mmmmmmmmm.

Each attendee received a gift of a colorful mini skein of Primrose Yarn. Christine got right to work on a crocheted octopus and was borrowing some fiber fill to stuff it, right as we partied.

I’m not sure why I didn’t photograph her eight legged creature but am kicking myself now.

One skein of colorway Forbidden Forest ( 100% Superwash Merino Single)  makes this gorgeous Storm Shawl pattern by Joji Locatelli available at McWalker Yarns via Ravelry

Timbre Hat designed by Meghan Fernandes from current issue of Pom Pom Magazine knit by Amy using a skein of Classy DK with the addition of a strand of Primrose Plume Mohair yarn

Glow in the Dark

Charlie’s pajamas glow in the dark. And in the morning, too.    I took out my portable Ott Light (thanks Marlene) to charge up the stars so they’d glow even brighter.
