A Nut Dish

Would believe I have a nut dish? Just the one.

A boat shaped Lenox nut dish.

Steve had a container of mixed nuts and I saw it and thought, wait a minute, somewhere in a China closet there is a designated dish to hold nuts.

I’m serious. A wedding gift in 1974, it was paired with that lidded Lenox candy dish I posted the other day.

An added spoon would be the best way to serve the nuts so people don’t stick their hands in the dish.

Nut dish

Broken

It’s just a thing. But it still feels sad.

Jemima Puddleduck teacup split in two, in a flash.

Good Friends Host Retirement Dinner

For me? Wow!

We had trouble finding a date when I wasn’t out of town. And-

They both still work full time. They also have lots of activities with their kids as I do (grandkids), too, but finally we coordinated a date. Just yesterday- Sunday. Everything was so welcoming.

Doesn’t matter I will be retired 4 years in June 😀. I thought it was lovely to be entertained royally and then sent home with homemade cookies, decorated so lovingly.

I am fortunate to have such very good friends who cheer me on and celebrate my retirement.

A beautiful table set with China and candles and linens and the dinner was delicious.

P.S. check out my host’s GOT shirt with matching package of Oreos. He was ready to watch the upcoming battle everyone was anticipating.

Thanks for a lovely dinner.❤️

Tea Time at a Friend’s Table

Tea time at a friend’s table, Monday afternoon. A lovely respite, good conversation, catching up, topics- family and friends, the state of our world. A plate of chocolate filled cookies. A gracious hostess offering a cup of tea. We toasted and clinked our delicate teacups. To friendship.

Cheers!
