Just a few signs you don’t always see.
I received the loveliest email from a nice knitter from Texas whom I met in Norway.
We traveled together on the Arne and Carlos Knitting Cruise. She attached a photo of me on the deck of the M/S Finnmarken, shooting the Norwegian coastal vista with my phone. Norway is a beautiful country.
I didn’t even know she took it. Turns out she’d also checked out my blog site when she got home and saw the People at Work series from last July’s show.
So she titled it “Ruth at Work” Thanks Becky.

Pretty soon it will be Orange Scarf Day in Norway. In all the yarn stores there were bins of orange yarn for knitters to buy and knit up a scarf.
Three fellow Knitting Cruise Members knit orange scarves during our trip. It’s good to think of the scarves keeping someone warm.
“an annual event by The Church City Mission (Kirkens Bymisjon) to emphasize caring and inclusiveness while approaching winter and Christmas season. The scarves are left on the sculptures for those who need in cold winter days.”
Trio of condiments in the Kirkenes, Norway Airport. No, I didn’t take the opportunity to sample them or even read the ingredients. The visual sufficed. But they caught my eye for sure. Maybe you remember the American Sandwich Sauce pic from Berlin a couple of weeks ago.
The Knitting Cruise ended Thursday morning and we took a bus to the Kirkenes Airport, dispersing to various destinations. I’m headed to Reykjavík via one night in Oslo. After supper I walked and walked around the city, realizing my time in Oslo is short.
Here’s my night gallery of Oslo.
Love to you on your birthday dear DIL
From your MIL in Norway
Here’s a fun pic of you I took in July. Birthday Greetings from Norway
The MS Finnmarken kitchen is a busy place, All meals included in the Knitting Cruise with Arne and Carlos. Everything I ate was delicious. I didn’t sample every offering but wanted to make a collage of the possibilities. We had a vegetarian entree Wednesday night and last night was the Four Course Gourmet Dinner with a beautiful cheese plate with fresh currants shown above.
