Pine nuts pressed into the almond flavored cookie. One of my favorites. Bought Bleecker Street Rocco’s Pasticceria last week when I was at my sister’s.
I have a recipe from a former colleague’s mother. Here’s the link to the 2012 blog post.

Italian Amaretti cookies are gluten and dairy free.
And delicious if you like almond flavor. These are store bought Amaretti but I found a recipe to try with just four ingredients- almond flour, sugar, egg whites and almond extract.
Being in my backpack, as Mary and I walked around the city on Monday, this cookie looks a little worse for wear. But the taste snd enjoyment were not diminished in the least. Delicious! it’s a soft cookie with half vanilla half chocolate glaze.
I won’t take a poll on whether or not you like them cause I read they are pretty much a Northeast and Florida treat. I’ve seen smaller ones in Ohio.

Hostess Deb created the perfect Pandemic lunch on her deck overlooking the Ohio River. We’d not seen each other since early March. Centerpiece courtesy of Donna, who gave me a kalanchoe in a tiny pumpkin, too. Asian chicken wraps and potato salad with a side of red grapes. A tall glass of apple cider from the farm stand. An oatmeal cookie.

Actually captured this shot on the way into school last week before the holiday but it seemed a good one to post today. It’s been pouring all day(Tuesday), the mood particularly grim and gray. Snow is threatened but the temperature will have to drop twenty degrees. Don’t know the recipe of the smashed turkey dessert but it looks like Oreos and candy corn and a Devil’s Food cupcake were involved. I guess the green is frosting? When I went to examine it after school, it was just a total grease spot on the concrete step. The smashed turkey was gone.
