An unexpected surprise delivered to my house. A box arrived containing a baker’s dozen of Georgia peaches from dear friends. Thank you Kristin and Rick. They not only do they look gorgeous but are the sweetest, juiciest peaches, ever. Laura had just told me on the phone, they were getting a box of peaches delivered to their Columbus Ohio home this Saturday. And then these arrived for me. ❤️
Fresh Peach Crisp in the Oven. As good as apple crisp for sure. There were quite a few ripe peaches asking for someone to do something with them. E put plain yogurt on top of a warm serving but I was thinking vanilla ice cream would have been a prefect combination, too.
Monday- a beautiful summer evening in Ohio where I’ve come for a few days to help celebrate Michael’s birthday.
Three photos-variations on Fruit- pastries, a bowlful and a single red apple.
Mark brought a pastry box filled with “fruits” from Mozart’s Austrian Cafe down on High Street in Columbus. The peach had marzipan inside. I checked out their menu and plan to get a piece of apple strudel before I return to Pittsburgh. Their dessert descriptions are enticing. You can eat in their restaurant, too. Piano bar.
Gluten free Tortes available
A traditional Hungarian torte, the Esterhazy is made from individually baked layers of flourless almond meringue filled with a rum-infused almond buttercream, and decorated with a distinct chocolate striped pattern. 7″, $35, Decorated $40
And at Mark and Erika’s home, on the same kitchen counter as the pastries sat a large wooden bowl filled with fresh fruit.
I chose one to wash and cut up into slices.
