Months of planning. Details and lists. Flowers, cake, music, officiant, cookies baked for the cookie table. A lot of work. A lot of love.
Friends and family offering support and cheering the couple on to a happy life together. Relatives travelled from California,Florida, Jersey & North Carolina, Ohio to witness the marriage.
My DIL’s first cousin Matthew married Melissa this evening and I had the honor of being the photographer. Mansions of Fifth was an elegant venue.
Uncle Frank, Aunt Linda and Uncle Donald were the drivers of Uncle Frank’s vintage cars which added a lot to the ambience of the occasion.
A lovely wedding. The rain held off- I had a big golf umbrella with me-
though the clouds looked threatening.
Chas, the shirt PITT shirt vendor, on the corner of Forbes and Bigelow Blvd came to the car window to offer congratulations AND two free PITT T-shirts. And the bride is an alum! Thanks Chas.
Unexpected and fun. Cake decorated by Jordan in the wedding party.
What a perfect day for a celebration. Doreen and Marty chose this wedding date as her grandfather was born on July 4th, 1910. Although he has passed, Doreen’s grandmother was dancing up a storm and enjoying the wedding.
Here they are watching the fireworks being shot from a barge on the river. The reception was at Station Square Sheraton Hotel in Pittsburgh.
Congratulations Nicki and Jeff. What a fun wedding. Thanks for allowing me to blog a first peek at some of the photos. Love the umbrella shots
Wishing you every happiness, always. Ruth

Not raining yet.

The cookie table spread was a gift from friend Ellen and they were delicious. A lot of baking.
Michelle W. challenged the WordPress Community this week with the theme DREAMY–
I thought it was a real challenge. (I guess that’s the point of the challenge) Some are easier to find just the right photos in response.

So WordPress decided to change the editor where one creates a new post and I just couldn’t see how it is any sort of an improved model. Perhaps it just takes some getting accustomed to the new format?
“No worries, just switch to classic mode” they reassured me at the top of the WordPress Page. I clicked.
And then when you click :PREVIEW the post from the classic mode, it then reverts to the New Editor, it does not stay in “classic mode”
Life is all about change and our ability to adapt to change, right?
But sometimes CHANGE is NOT an improvement.
(And what the heck is the BEEP BEEP BOOP someone created for the loading while you wait? Oh my)

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming and I know talking about computer issues bores people.

The whole day was filled with love, love, love. There was mist, then drizzle, but no downpour. A little thunder and at the end of the evening we heard the Pittsburgh Pirates fireworks, boom boom boom.
Jessica and Matthew worked hard on every detail but the weather was out of their control.
Everyone was a good sport and carried umbrellas, one maid of honor wore her boots! I covered the camera with plastic grocery bags. And then it stopped.
It was long awaited for and very happy day.
You can see the mutual admiration, love and affection for one another in these photographs. The wedding and reception were held at The National Aviary on the North Side of Pittsburgh
Congratulations and all the best to Jessica and Matthew. It was a lovely wedding to capture.
Enjoy your European honeymoon adventure.
Jessica gets out of the car. She and used to teach at the same school. She is an Art Teacher in the city.
Everyone was at the Inn at the Mexican War Streets on the North Side.

The first day of fall was a beautiful wedding day for Prudence and Jordan in Somerset PA.
Sunshine then intermittent showers but then some wonderful sunlight breaking through the clouds, too. Overcast skies make for no squinting during outdoor picture taking!
The sun and light matched the gorgeous bouquets of sunflowers.
Jordan is a Volunteer Firefighter and a Somerset Police Officer and his colleagues provided escort service for the couple to the reception, honking the horn as they made the short trip to the Somerset Country Club from West Church Street. It was a wild ride. Prudence was a lovely bride.
They were a great couple to photograph as was the rest of the bridal party and they graciously permitted me to post a few wedding photos from Saturday afternoon on the blog today.
I got to sit up front in Ladder Tower #3 and filmed a short video to share with grandsons Michael and Jack when I visit. I had crawled into a firetruck once at an open house in Ohio but never got the thrill of riding in a giant Ladder Tower truck. It was exciting, fun and memorable. All the best to Prudence and Jordan!
