Super Stress Relief
Maura found the potholder looms in the guest room night stand this evening. I’d rummaged around for them when I’d visit but could not find them. What a happy find tonight.
Anna and her friend got right to work. Maura needed some help. I use knitting needles or pencils through the loop ends as I approach the finish. Keep it from popping off prematurely. Then a crochet hook to bind off.
Weaving these provides major stress relief for me. Over under over under. Under over under over- The repetition.
Reminds me of childhood, too.
I like them especially for hot pot lids
when I want to peek inside.
I Love When Someone Else is Driving
And I’m in the front passenger seat with my camera out of the bag.
Shoot!
’cause we just ran out of the swim meet when it started to pour.
Photo opportunity.
The magic of wet pavement. The sky growing dark.
Thanks Erika for driving. I turn the ride home into a car headlights in the rain reflection study. 70-200 L series lens on the Canon 5D Mark ii Trying to hold it steady in a moving car another challenge.

After Swimming, Maura Watches the Best Damn Band Tubas Practice
The Ohio State University Marching Band- AKA (The Best Damn Band in the Land )
looked like the tuba section was watching a demo by a veteran.
Early evening light made their shirts glow a bit.

Off-season: Weekly Photo Challenge
In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Off-Season.”
From my family’s basement.
I unearthed some holiday items for the challenge. Shot with the iPhone.
4 Cosmic Hula Hoops from Cambridge OHIO
I stopped at Exit 178- Cambridge and popped into the K-Mart to get a phone cord charger.
Saw these Cosmic Hula Hoops and bought 4 for the grandkids as I was on my way. Had a repeat light writing blog in mind as I drove the rest of the way to Columbus.
So four hula hoops, with blinking lights, plus four grandchildren willing to experiment with light equals a fun night photography effort
They helped Grandma capture a different kind of light writing in the backyard when it got dark outside.
I’d say the first day of retirement was a good one!
We used lightning sticks before which might have been easier to maneuver but not as bright.
Michael and Jack watch Anna and her hula hoop skills.
All four at once. They were already in their jammies.

A few individual efforts and the group
We will try another night.
School’s out for the Summer and for me? for always! That’s it! Retired!
Thanks Susan for helping me get the job at Carrick and for sending me off at the finish. You and Ava were a big help to me, made it a nice ending with Origami paper flying around the parking lot, your catching it.
Thanks for taking my picture in the parking lot, all packed up and ready to pull out. Hooray. I couldn’t have done it without you.
Made an art project out of the Mini-Mes found in drawer
Completing the gradebook, returning materials, getting signatures that I’ve accomplished the required tasks.
My remaining time at school growing shorter by the minute.
Still things to be done, so why not take a break and create something?
I glued all the “students” in the lid of a copy paper box. Well, not all of them but as many of the seniors who graduated last Sunday.
What might look like leftover stuff to others became a wonderful memory to me.
Thanks for the memories.
