Filling the Claw Machine

Before Thanksgiving vacation, I was looking for the game Scattergories. It was sold out in two places I’d looked. (and it wasn’t in this discount store either) It’s still on my list.

When I see a Claw Machine I think of random news reports about small children getting up into them somehow.,

I asked if the Claw Machine was popular which was a dumb question cause there she was refilling it with loads of stuffed animals. Turns out there is a lot of info about the Claw Machines and the mechanical cranes. Here is an article about The Science Behind the Claw Machine Will Enrage You at Buzzfeed

Then I looked up How to Win at the Claw Machine, not that I want to win any of the stuffed animals but wondered if there was a strategy. click- Win at a Claw Machine

I’ve not attempted to use one……..yet.

In fact, I didn’t even know there was science or strategy behind it!

My Favorite Christmas House

Yes, the longest day of the year is coming soon. Craving the light.

This is the third year I’ve photographed this house.

I love how they go all out.

One year I sent it as my Christmas Card cause it looked like a Gingerbread Candy House all lit up.

This year I took the photo with my iPhone, just two shots.

I think they’ve changed to LED lights. It must take a tremendous amount of time to install all these lights.

Will I remember to drive by in July and see if they leave them up all year round, such a lot of time to decorate? Probably not.

At the end of the post, if you scroll down, you can see the string of lights Steve added to the front of our house. When I drove home from Ohio Wednesday night, I saw the colorful beacon along the driveway and it touched me that he put up a string of lights and plugged them in. Reminiscent of Charlie Brown’s sweet little tree. He must have found them in the garage.

You can see why I am so attracted to the over the top display highlighting the architectural details of the Morningside home. So cheerful in the dark night.

Sparkling Water Spring

Dropped on the driveway as I was packing up my car, an unexpected photo op!

Thank you free dictionary Sprung didn’t look correct but it could have been used

v. sprang or, often, sprung; sprung; spring•ing; v.i.

1. to rise, leap, or move suddenly and swiftly: a tiger about to spring.

2. to be released suddenly from a constrained position: The door sprang open.

3. to issue forth suddenly or forcefully: Oil sprang from the well.

Or #4. Sparkling water sprang from the can. It sprung a leak.

So How Do You Feel About Clowns?

I posted a clown puppet we had as kids while ago. Today there are two paintings of some different looking clowns. Some cheery, some sad. I mentioned the fear of clowns- coulrophobia- in that puppet post but am revisiting it today. Would you like these paintings on your wall?
