Missing Degas by a Day

Dance Dance Dance
The Dancers. All those ballerinas. I had a framed print on my childhood wall.
I’m visiting my sister but Wednesday we’re headed to family in Ohio.
On Monday at MOMA, I read signs of the Edgar Degas exhibit which previews the day we leave the city-glimpses of what I’d miss were represented in the gift shop.

Degas dancers on bookmarks, stationery, prints to be framed, journals, magnets, a children’s book. Not a mug in sight!

The entrance to the exhibit, cordoned off until tomorrow for members.

Full Moon Through NYC Window

It was a beautiful shot.  I just couldn’t capture it adequately through the glass.

Pop des Fleurs -Pittsburgh- Guest Blog

My friend Roberta saw this colorful display in front of the Carnegie Library in Oakland and sent me these photos.  I didn’t get to see them in person but I’m pretty sure I saw some blooms being created at the Knit and Crochet Festival.

Pop, is right! Although the real flowers are beginning to come up, this art installation brightens up the city.

Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh  says, “Pop des Fleurs is an outdoor installation planned for the winters of 2015 and 2016, designed to bring delight and color during the dark season through handmade, pop-up flower gardens”

Thanks for sharing Pop des Fleurs on the blog today.

Front Porch Still-Life at Dusk

Reblogged From March 2010 -if you’ve followed since the start, you remember this photograph
Old seltzer bottles, a birdcage, the texture of the wicker, some stained glass at dusk.
J’s front porch with the sun sinking behind. Condensation inside the old glass, the metal tops. Artists usually arrange inanimate objects to create a still-life to paint or draw. This was already there, waiting.

But then it is an artist’s house.
Still Life, a grouping of inanimate objects arranged in a pleasing composition
