Have a Great Day, James

Here’s my son-in-law James creating a Bumblebee Transformer from cardboard, devising a special costume for Charlie this past Halloween. What a transformation! It was impressive.  He watched a YouTube video about creating Transformer costumes.  Then came up with the plan.

Dear James,

May your birthday today be the beginning of a happy and healthy new year. Lots of love, from your MIL Ruthie

p.s James bought the “Have a Great Day” pen and ink drawing by Addie Cheges and gave it me to several years ago.

What’s on Your Wish List?

What’s on your wish list?

Anything hard to find?

Something you’ve had on your list but never received?

My son Mark recently remembered his longed for toy (thirty + years), best gift ever.  You might remember that post of his receiving the Millennium Falcon. It was my top post in 2011,  the most viewed.

Not to confuse Star Wars and Star Trek but how about this Barbie and Ken Star Trek set?  It’s probably gone now but I saw it a couple of weeks ago.

Baking Sweet Potatoes in Cast Iron Skillet

Baking sweet potatoes in a cast iron skillet makes them extra delicious. These I cut in half as they were so big. A 400 degree oven. An hour or ’til fork inserted tells you otherwise.

The apples were added later. They were on my Wordless Wednesday this week and yes, that’s Irish butter in the center of each Granny Smith Half. No other seasoning.
