Gonzo’s Sister Now in Florida

Dear dc.

Thanks for the great photo of Gonzo’s Sister*. Amazing she laid an egg when you took her out of the box! And you thought with all those air holes punched in the cardboard, I must have mailed a plant or a puppy but alas, it was too light when you lifted it up off your front porch. Surprise!

Everyone needs a handknit Emotional Support Chicken. The pattern is from The Knitting Tree, LA And it’s soaring on the charts. https://theknittingtreela.com/

Not sure if there will be enough eggs to bake a cake today but wanted to say Happy Birthday and hope she’s behaving herself in her new digs.

Love,

Pres

Crème Brûlée

Crème Brûlée means Burnt Cream.

You can make it at home with this recipe.

Dessert after a celebratory dinner

Crème brûlée is rich and smooth with a crust of caramelized sugar on top. The slight tartness of fresh berries are the perfect complement to the sweet vanilla custard.

1900’s Menus and Recipes

The first is a Class Banquet menu from my Grandmother’s 1906 Yearbook and the second menu and all the recipes from an old cookbook I dusted off. Its date was 1913.
