Along the Spree River, in a building covered in vines, you can find Guitar Doc. Here’s Anthony working on his 100th guitar. His father being a handyman was always working with his hands so when Anthony was small, he’d look over his shoulder and watch and learn.
There’s a Vintage Guitar Lounge where you can take an instrument from the wall display and test it as you sit and play. Listen to the tone, feel the heft of the polished wood, strum and pick the strings.
A good day for an addition to the People at Work series.

This afternoon at Die_Wollnerin, (That’s the name to follow on Instagram)local yarn store in Berlin, a cool duo were filming a live Instagram video. I was able to send the video to some knitting friends in the states while it was happening. It’s up for another 19 hours. Yes it’s in German but look at the gorgeous yarn.
Meet Sabine Bornemann, owner of the Yarn Store Die Wollnerin and fabulous hand dyer of lovely colorful yarn. Every time I visit Berlin, I stop by to visit and buy yarn souvenirs.
Here are the Instagram Live Video creators Diana and Stefanie so much fun to meet them and watch the action https://feierabendfrickeleien.com/

My brother and I are 4,937 miles apart today, on his milestone birthday-also Flag Day in the USA.
A nine hour time difference between Okanogan WA and Berlin. I’m posting birthday greetings as he celebrates so far away.
Today’s photo was taken last Saturday at the Winterfeld Market Platz.
Garlic grown in Poland
At the end of the summer my brother always ships me a box of organic garlic that he’s grown and it’s so fresh and delicious.
Happy Birthday David! Lots of love, Ruthie
This past week I’ve asked how you feel about eating Cilantro and Rhubarb. What tastes are pleasing to your palate?
Here’s another distinctive flavor.
Licorice-Yes or no?
Meet Menno, from Holland, who has a stand on Saturdays at Winterfeldplatz Market, selling all kinds of licorice. Some with salt. Some with a lot of salt My eldest son likes licorice. I do, too But without the salt for me, please. Here is Menno’s website http://www.lecker-lakritz.de

Somewhere in the archives I have photos of my sister eating a licorice ice cream cone in Twisp Washington. And of course Menno has sold pure licorice powder to our favorite Berlin ice cream store, Kiez Eis, for licorice ice cream. You know I asked.
