Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular Guest Blog

Eileen shares 2023 Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular photos taken in Providence, Rhode Island at Roger Williams Park Zoo

“Linda and I discovered this totally fun event a couple of years ago and now we make the effort to go every year. The theme changes but the experience is the same as it takes us back to fond childhood memories of anticipating the excitement of Halloween. Living in the city, I collected a ton of candy and used a pillow case as most bags or buckets were just too small! I remember dumping it all on my bedroom floor and then organizing by candy type. I could trade the ones I didn’t like or leave them until last! My Favorite was Milky Way and Caramel Cremes. A person on our street was a sales person for M&M Mars and they always had FULL SIZE bars. There was a line at that house 🙂 A Wise Potato chip distribution facility was down the street and everyone on that street had a variety of chips so we always saved that street for last so the chips didn’t get crushed by candy. Fond memories of Halloween for me.

Take a trip around the world at this year’s Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular: Pumpkins Around the World,”presented by Citizens. From the website Roger Williams Park Zoo website

“Thousands of artistically carved pumpkins illuminate the night during this walk-through spectacular. Be magically transported on a European vacation, wildlife safari, and a trip down Route 66! From the Pyramids of Giza to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, this spooktacular family event will satisfy your case of wanderlust – no passports required!”

Brightening the urban landscape with colorful art!

I was right in the next room…

Not close enough, though. Could have been worse. Definitely a mess to clean up. Haven’t burned a candle in a long time.don’t think I’ll be lighting another, anytime soon. It was a gray, chilly, rainy day. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

Why they say, “don’t leave a burning candle unattended”

People at Work- Addition to the Series – and Subaru Loves Pets Day

This morning I drove out to #1Cochran Subaru to an appointment with Mary Beth. There’s a Love- Encore Delivery program. She patiently showed me all the features in my new car, answered questions that I had and showed me where to take my Outback for service in the future. Thank you Mary Beth.

Although I had a 2011 Subaru Outback previously, this new one has lots of improved technology and safety features. “To make sure you’re familiar with these features and to personalize them according to your needs, Subaru created the Love-Encore visit. You’ll have a one-on-one appointment at Subaru with a Subaru Star Delivery Specialist who will answer any questions you have and help you explore and customize your vehicle’s systems”

She gave me a little black notebook with pen and stylus and a $25 Sheetz gas card.

The blog introduced you to Harry “Good News” when I bought my car – it was Harry who told me about the Love-Encore program. Thank you

As I was leaving I saw that #1 Cochran is having a Subaru loves Pets Day Oct 28th. (Note Date changed from original of 22 October) Dogs who are Hard to Place in forever homes will be in the showroom.
