Have Bike Will Travel Guest Blog

I received an email from long time friend Shuey. You’ve seen his contributions to the blog before . You might remember his most viewed post of the Barred Owl ? from 2012. Here’s what he sent .

Ruth,
Picked up a used motorcycle today in Tucson Arizona. It’s the same make and model as the first one I had, 2007 Honda ST 1300.

Left Tucson today on road to VanHorn, Texas. About three hours before getting to VanHorn, while going through El Paso, I looked left to change lanes and was stunned at seeing this rainbow. Managed to pull over safely and snapped this pic, it was beautiful. About 10 miles before arriving at VanHorn, the sun was setting, and I managed to get a snap of this part of it. Hope your day went well. Mine is great.
Shuey

Thanks Shuey for sharing your stunning photographs.

The Snowman of Portersville – Guest Blog

Our family friend Shuey has done it again. Sent photos that create a guest blog post. He’d driven his motorcycle up from Niceville Florida.

“I rode up to be a motorcycle safety volunteer for a charity bicycle event running out of Seneca, PA. It was in support of MS research and I monitored traffic at an intersection to facilitate travel for over 300 cyclists riding a 75 mile course. Weather was decent last Saturday and I think everyone had a good time. The route was quite hilly and twisty; these were serious riders.”

Last Saturday Shuey captured the Snowman after his volunteer duty was completed.

The Snowman of Portersville

The Snowman is a one-of-a-kind, 13-foot tall custom built roadside attraction originally from New Mexico. In 2013, he found his permanent home right here in Portersville, Pennsylvania.”

“If you’ve followed the blog you might remember the top post of 2012 was Shuey’s guest post of the stunning Barred Owl

Photographing the Family at the Columbus International Auto Show

Photographing four kids together can be tricky and exasperating, trying to get everyone looking pleasant simultaneously.

The first photo is one solution. Take them from behind!

Seems easier with the distraction and props of shiny new cars at the Columbus Car Show.  Pretty good cooperation. Especially when they weren’t really thinking about me and my camera!   mustangListening to the finer points of this Mustang by Ford

Dog Follows Rider in the Snow

Reblogged from Feb 2010 Snowmageddon. German Shepherd and Biker.
When I look at the comments from four years ago, I see Deb saw a snow heart in the tree. Happy Valentine’s. We’ve had lots of snow this year but never all at once like 2010.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Forward

Forward on the soccer team?  Forward as in pushy, aggressive?

I’m thinking FORWARD motion cause that is what I came up with as I skimmed through my photos.

The Weekly Photo Challenge seems like a real challenge to me this week. Guess I am taking the word Forward, literally.  The sensation of moving up, plowing ahead, going forward. Here are the photos I chose for the theme FORWARD.  (I like to think a bit of blur illustrates the forward motion!  HA!)

Trying the new option, well new to me…..click to see the photos.  Let me know if it works.   Continue reading
