June Gallery of Roses in Berlin

The first photo a rose bouquet I purchased from the Winterfeldplatz Market. The other roses seen while walking.

Rose season in full bloom.

At all stages of blossoming,  they are lovely to see.  When I went to find rose quotations to accompany the photos  there were over three hundred to choose from including the mention of thorns, of course.

Decided on a single most well known quotation spoken by Juliet but I’m sure more thoughts on roses will come to your own mind.

(And on a side note Kiez Eis https://kiezeis.de/ on Winterfeld Strasse is featuring Rosewasser Ice Cream in addition to the rhubarb and asparagus flavors I’ve mentioned recently.)

“WHAT’S IN A NAME? THAT WHICH WE CALL A ROSE,  BY ANY OTHER NAME WOULD SMELL AS SWEET.”

White Flowers Found on Clintonville Walk

A Six Word Saturday

The nice thing about white flowers is they can be seen even at dusk.

Through a Neighbor’s Fence

Walking to book club (to discuss The Madonnas of Leningrad), I came across this single blossom which had poked through the slats of my neighbor’s fence. The setting sun illuminated the new green leaves. Unretouched Photo.

A Kind Person Found My Hat

Friday’s long walk all around Schoenberg resulted in my lost knit hat. Too dark when I got back to head out and try to find it. I was disappointed I lost it.

Saturday morning I took a half mug of coffee and retraced my steps. Three blocks away on Eisenacher Strasse, near the Little Witch playground,

I saw my hat hanging from a bush.

Thank you kind person.

I felt fortunate to find it. Made my day.

You might remember this post in November 2015 of the hat being knit Sockhead Hat

(And it has a link to Kelly McClure’s pattern)

Pedestrians on Cell Phones in NYC

Downright dangerous.

From my archives March 2013

I remember taking these photos as my sister and I walked down Fifth Avenue. Photographed with a Canon 5D.   I shot 188 images in about 45 minutes, Here are a few. Too many I know but it was hard to choose.

Pedestrians on cell phones can get distracted  and crossing the street while staring at your screen is risky.  These pedestrians were easy to photograph cause they weren’t paying attention to me. Well, maybe one or two noticed.

You could write a phone conversation dialogue for the images.
